West Wimbledon Removals Modern Slavery Statement
West Wimbledon Removals is committed to conducting all aspects of our business in an ethical, transparent and responsible manner. This Modern Slavery Statement outlines the steps we take to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. It applies to all employees, contractors, agency staff and suppliers engaged by West Wimbledon Removals.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
We maintain a zero-tolerance approach to all forms of modern slavery, including forced labour, bonded labour, human trafficking, child labour and any form of exploitation. We expect the same high standards from everyone we work with, including suppliers, subcontractors and other business partners. Any breach or suspected breach of this policy is treated with utmost seriousness and may result in the termination of business relationships or disciplinary action where appropriate.
Our leadership team is responsible for promoting a culture where ethical conduct is the norm and where employees feel confident to raise concerns. We seek to embed respect for human rights into our day-to-day decisions, from recruitment and training through to selecting suppliers and partners.
Our Operations and Supply Chain
West Wimbledon Removals provides removals and related services, including packing, storage and relocation support. Our workforce is made up of directly employed staff and, where necessary, agency labour. Our supply chain includes providers of vehicles, fuel, packaging materials, equipment, facilities, and professional services, as well as subcontracted removals services.
We recognise that certain areas of our supply chain may carry a higher risk of modern slavery, particularly where services rely on temporary or low-skilled labour, or where goods are sourced from regions with weaker labour protections. We are committed to identifying, assessing and addressing these risks on an ongoing basis.
Supplier Standards and Audits
All new suppliers are expected to confirm that they comply with applicable labour laws, including those relating to modern slavery and human trafficking. We communicate our zero-tolerance stance clearly during onboarding and in our contractual terms, where we require suppliers to maintain fair and safe working conditions and to prohibit forced or compulsory labour.
We conduct proportionate due diligence and audits on selected suppliers, prioritising those operating in higher-risk categories or regions. These audits may include requests for documentation, questionnaires, site visits where practical, and review of recruitment and labour management practices. Where non-compliance or areas of concern are identified, we work with the supplier on corrective actions and set clear time frames for improvement. If material issues are not resolved, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate the relationship.
Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing Channels
We encourage all employees, contractors, suppliers and other stakeholders to raise concerns about any issue or suspicion of modern slavery in any part of our business or supply chain. Concerns may relate to working conditions, recruitment fees, retention of identity documents, intimidation, or any other practice that could indicate exploitation.
Reports can be made to line managers, senior management or other designated points of contact within the company. Individuals are encouraged to report as soon as possible and to provide as much detail as they can. Reports will be handled sensitively, investigated promptly and, where appropriate, escalated to senior leadership. We do not tolerate victimisation or retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith.
Training, Awareness and Continuous Improvement
We are committed to increasing awareness and understanding of modern slavery risks within our organisation. Relevant staff, particularly those involved in recruitment, procurement and supplier management, receive guidance to help them identify warning signs and respond appropriately to potential issues.
We review our policies, risk assessments and procedures regularly to ensure they remain effective. Feedback from employees, suppliers and other stakeholders is welcomed as part of our continuous improvement approach.
Annual Review and Approval
This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed on an annual basis to reflect changes in our operations, supply chain and regulatory environment. As part of the review, we assess the effectiveness of our current measures, consider any incidents or concerns raised, and identify opportunities to strengthen our processes.
The updated statement is approved by the senior leadership of West Wimbledon Removals each year and published to demonstrate our ongoing commitment to combating modern slavery and human trafficking in all areas of our business.
